What is the mentorship program?
Our mentorship program is one of our most beloved and popular ways to get involved! We go through a very detailed process to ensure that you are paired with the best mentor/mentee possible. These bonds that are formed through this program last much longer than your time in AMSA and are very beneficial in allowing you to gain insight in the pre-med process as a mentee or a very rewarding way to help younger pre-meds on their journey as a mentor!
In being part of the mentor/mentee program, there is a points system in which mentors are able to submit a form with information about a meeting between the mentor and their mentee. Members gain two mentorship points for attending curriculum meetings held biweekly. Mentor and mentee pairs are also expected to outside of these meetings and gain 2 points for that meeting as well.
The total points are tallied and the mentor and mentee pair with the most points at the end of the semester wins the title “BEST MENTOR AND MENTEE OF THE YEAR”
