September 24th GBM - Welcome Dr. Riding and Period UCF!

Meeting Summary: Each officer introduced upcoming events, organized by our new directors! Anyone who was unable to attend our first GBM was given a welcome packet that described our opportunities in detail. As our featured guest speaker, Dr. Kyle Riding spoke about laboratory medicine and the importance of understanding patient care as a team effort.

September 10th GBM - Welcome Back #fAMSA!

Meeting Summary: We went over the major opportunities that we offer our members (ex. leadership, volunteering, MCAT prep course discounts, etc.). After introducing our sponsors and staff advisor, each officer explained their responsibilities and upcoming events.   • Our club advisor, Dr. Erin Myszkowski, is also the director of the Pre-Health Pre-Law Office on campus. Dr. Myszkowski’s office can be located on the second floor of Trevor Colbourn Hall (TCH).

  • Sophia Dias, President

    • Directorship interviews will be conducted from 9/11 to 9/13. All directorship job descriptions can be found under our About tab on the “Our Directors” website page. In order to apply, you must be a paid member. All interview appointments are completed on a scheduled basis which can be found via the “Apply Here” button next to each description.

    • Each month, our chapter will organize a committee for a different cause. As a paid member, this is an opportunity for a leadership role within our club. October’s committee will be for Breast Cancer Awareness and the interest meeting will be on September 17th. Please email Sophia at president@premedamsa.com for more information on how to be involved!

  • Melanie Molina, Vice President

    • To give our members a head start on the new year, we will be hosting a professionalism workshop on 9/16. This event does require an RSVP via KnightConnect. For additional information, please reach out to Melanie at vicepresident@premedamsa.com!

    • IM Flag Football sign ups are due by 9/12. Each game will be hosted on the IM fields on Wednesdays between 8 and 10 PM. For more information, email Soph at sergeantatarms@premedamsa.com!

    • Pre-Med AMSA at UCF will be traveling to Peru for our first annual service trip! Alongside Soph, our Global Health directors will be in charge of organizing all logistics of Spring Break journey.

    • In our chapter, we love to see our members get involved in our events. Our Distinguished Member status can be achieved by earning 100 points by the end of the academic school year. All DMs will be recognized at our end-of-the-year banquet in April.

    • Volunteering events are planned throughout each week for our paid members. All members must RSVP and receive a confirmation from Anna (chiefofstaff@premedamsa.com) to attend our volunteering opportunities.
